Stacey Beck
Stacey has been training dogs professionally for 9 years. She founded Four Paws, Two Feet LLC in the fall of 2003.
A professional member of the APDT (Association of Pet Dog Trainers), and a past President of the GTOTC (Greater Toledo Obedience Training Club), Stacey stays current with training methods and equipment through seminars and trade publications. She has trained her own dogs in Agility, Competition Obedience, Freestyle and Therapy Dog work. Stacey's personal accomplishments include:
- Titled 5 dogs (2 breeds) at 4 jump heights in 3 seperate agility venues.
- Only trainer/handler to earn MACH (AKC's Master Agility Champion) titles on multiple dogs and in three different jump heights in the Greater Toledo area.
- Only trainer/handler to earn the ADCH (USDAA's Agility Dog Champion) title in the Greater Toledo area.
- Has qualified 4 different dogs for national competition events in either AKC or USDAA.
Stacey has instructed clients from ages 13 to 70+ to agility titles with dogs of every breed group as well as many, many mixed breeds.
She shares her busy world with husband, Chris, and teenaged kids, Kyle and Carly. Stacey trains and trials with her beloved dogs, MACh Xena CGC (Retired Border Collie); ADCh, MACh Rambo AS, SG, SS, PS1, CL3-R, CL3-F, NF, CGC (Retired Border Collie); Spice OA, OAJ (Retired, Rescued Border Collie), MACh Whip XF, MAD, SAM, JM, SM, ATD (Sheltie), and Thriller MX, MXJ, XF, MAD, SAM, JM, RM, TM (Border Collie).
Jay Barman
Jay first started working professionally with dogs when he was 9 years old - by offering pet sitting
and dog walking services. Jay has been teaching classes for dogs and their handlers for 4 years.
During those 4 years, he has attended over 150 hours of dog related seminars. Jay is a voting member
of the APDT (Association of Pet Dog Trainers). He is certified in Canine CPR and First-Aid. Jay is also a member of Paws With a Heart, a TDI (Therapy Dogs Interbnational) affiliated group.
Jay shares his home with 3 dogs; Pani, a Golden Retriever, whose accolades include Therapy Dog, NA (Novice Agility) title, and Best Trick Winner at the 2002 Mutt Show; Shiloh, a Belgian Malinois mix who came from a New Mexico shelter; and Google, a 3-legged, Toy Fox Terrier from Ohio Toy Breed Rescue. In addition, Jay's home is often a temporary home for 1 or 2 foster dogs.
Currently Jay gives private lessons and consultations as well as teaching classes, is a foster handler for Planned Pethood (a pet rescue organization), and tries to go on as many therapy visits as possible. Jay recently graduated from The University of Toledo and hopes to attend a PhD program for Behavioral Psychology and Animal Learning.
